Obituary for MCCLAIN

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday May 07, 2006

PAT THIS IS TO PAY TRIBUTE TO: PAT MCCLAIN September 24, 1928 - April 20, 2006 Pat loved her husband, Mac, dearly and respectfully for 55 years. Mac and Pat had clearly defined respectful roles in their marriage and life together. Their solace was their beautiful back yard, as it was a symbol of their life together, always growing and changing. Everyday, without fail, you could find both of them caring for and enjoying the birds. She had a unique love for each of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. Every family member thought that they were her 'favorite.' She was a great listener and confidant. If anyone needed advice, they went to her and she would give them her timeless, solid opinion. Her best advice was: 'Be still' and 'This too shall pass.' She was always right! She was a great caretaker of everyone and her cure for all problems was to 'walk around the block and drink a glass of water.' She was courageous, strong, loyal, and a peacemaker. She loved the sunshine, swimming, and walking. She loved to eat the warm apricots that fell to the ground from her tree in the backyard, as well as watching her Atlanta Braves! We will all continue to aspire to be like her in body, mind, and spirit. We are devastated because we have lost our beloved 'wife', 'mother' and 'grandmommie.' She is with us in our hearts and will always be watching over us. Love, Susan, Betsy and Sally Julianne, Debra, Melissa, Lesley, Tracey, Travis, Brian Mac and Katie
