Obituary for SALAZAR

Carmen M. Salazar. The gates of heaven were opened and the Lord and our father received our mother on Sunday, April 30, 2006. Carmen was born in Santa Cruz, NM on December 17, 1924. She then married her first and only love, our father, Isauro Salazar on April 19, 1943. Together, they would raise 15 children and continued as the children would marry and bring into this world 40 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren as well as great-great-grandchildren. She was a mother to many including cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. She will be greatly missed by all. Carmen was preceded in death by her husband, Isauro Salazar; two sons, Felix and Izzie; her parents, Benedito and Simodosea Maestas; one sister, Frances; one brother, Amarante; and three grandsons, Nathan, Dion, and Philip II. Carmen leaves behind her 13 children, Lawrence Salazar and wife, Mari, Milford Salazar and wife, Marcella, Berna Martinez and husband, Mardy, Eddie Salazar, Hubert Salazar, Jay Salazar, Didi Sena and husband, Philip, Elaine Vasquez and husband, Richard, Steven Salazar and wife, Helen, Janell Chavez and husband, Gene, Lea-Etta Paduano and husband, John, Melinda Espinosa and husband, Jesus, and Ryan Salazar; two widowed daughters-in-law, Libby and Sylvia; one sister, Alicia Muniz; one brother-in-law; five sisters-in-law; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; many other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with a Rosary being on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 9:00 a.m. Catholic Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her sons-in-law, who loved her dearly; Mardy, Philip, Richard, Gene, John, and Jesus. Honorary pallbearers will be her 18 grandsons.
