Carmen Bustamante Bencomo, 81, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 19, 2006. Carmen was born February 7, 1925 in Mogollon, NM and was preceded in death by her husband, Augustine A. Bencomo and granddaughter, Andrea Bencomo Wood. She is survived by four daughters, Barbara "Tina" Lopez and Robert Grandin of Los Lunas, Alice and Josie Bencomo of Albuquerque, Gloria Whidby and husband, Don of Buford, GA; two sons, Robert Bencomo and wife, Joan and Matias Bencomo, all of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Aileen Gottlieb and husband, David of Rio Rancho and Monica Nicholson and husband, Billy of Buford, GA; grandsons, Adam, Danny, and Julian Bencomo of Albuquerque, and Marc Whidby and Michael Whidby and wife, Lyndsey of Buford, GA; great-granddaughters, Alex and Taylor Gottlieb and Amanda Wood and Nina and Liliana Nicholson; and her paloma, Kathleen Connell. Visitation will be held at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel on Sunday, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 309 Stover SW. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Robert Bencomo, Matias Bencomo, Adam Bencomo, Don Whidby, David Gottlieb, and Larry Lopez.
