George Otero, 80, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, died on Saturday, April 8, 2006. He served on the USS McCormick during the battle of the Coral Sea. George is survived by his children, George "Billy" Otero and wife, Mary Frances, Joanne D. Otero, Paddie Eichenberger and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Rene Otero y Caldwell, Cruz Hill, Lafayette Barela, David "Isaiah" Otero, Chrystee Armijo; great-grandchildren, Veronica Hill, Erica Hill, Alexie Hill, Diego Caldwell, Jono Caldwell, Julian Caldwell, and Saxon Armijo. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, George Otero, III, and Guillermo Alfonso Otero; four brothers, Fred Otero, Charlie Otero, Joe Otero, and Max Otero; his sister, Pearl Otero. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday morning, April 12, 2006, at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum Chapel. Pallbearers will be Isaiah Otero, Lafayette Barela, Cruz Hill, Jerry Eichenberger, Michael Prudencio, and George Otero.
