Obituary for MURPHY

Marilyn J. Murphy died April 4, 2006 in Albuquerque after a lengthy illness. She was born on January 19, 1928 in Grand Forks, ND. Marilyn moved to Albuquerque to attend UNM and shortly thereafter she met her husband of 42 years Patrick. In 1950, she and Pat established Marilyn's Dress Shop on Central and in 1971 they relocated and opened Marilyn's Pantique on Menaul across from Coronado. In 1985 they closed the doors and retired to enjoy life. Marilyn was an avid gardener. She liked to travel and when she was home she enjoyed her arts and crafts projects. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat. She is survived by her son, Craig and wife, Mary Murphy; her daughters, Candy Murphy, Babette Stepp, and Michele Arrighetti and husband, Rusty. Grandchildren include Teddy Murphy, Kyle Stepp, Melanie Bogart and husband, Ryan, and Keith Arrighetti and wife, Dena; and three great-grandchildren Tyler, Spencer, and Parker Arrighetti. Cremation has taken place and a Graveside Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Treatment and Research Center.
