Carrie Elizabeth Dowd went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 6, 2006 in Albuquerque. Waiting for her there is her husband, William L. Dowd; her parents, Claude and Edna Nicholson; and four sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her sister, Florence Brooks of Mimbres, NM; 12 nieces and nephews; and numerous grand-nieces and -nephews. She was born on May 9, 1917, in Albuquerque, and was a lifelong resident and member of Central United Methodist Church, in which she was very active as a member of the board, the Thursday bible study group, and other programs throughout her life. She also was a member of the Mason's Widow Club of Temple 6. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, Rev. Lyle Reece of Central United Methodist Church will be conducting the service. Friends may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, one hour prior to service. Internment will take place at 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
