Mary Evelyn Roos, age 97, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2006 five days before her 98th birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chanc T. Roos; her grandson, Joseph Michael Brennan; her mother and father, George and Dora Parker; sisters, Alta Brunsteter, Viola Giles, Pauline Albracht; her brothers, Murl Parker, Glen Parker, Thomas Parker and G. H. Parker. Mary is survived by her daughter, Barbara Roos Brennan; her grandchildren, Bridget and Scott Richards of Lake Forest, CA., Brian Brennan of Reno, NV., Kerry and Jim Bertram, and Patrick and Shannon Brennan all of Albuquerque; 13 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Anna Conklin and Jerrye Jackson of Hereford, TX.; and her cousin, Vern Parker of Albuquerque. Mary was born in White Deer, Oklahoma, April 7, 1908 and traveled to Texas as an infant in a covered wagon. She married Chanc in 1926 and they wandered the United States during the Great Depression, living in Chicago, Los Angeles, NYC and Denver, among other big cities, but always returning to Enid, Oklahoma. They returned to Enid for good in 1948. Mary was the Advertising Manager of the Vance AFB Airscoop for over 30 years. She has been residing in Albuquerque with her daughter for the past 3 years. The joys of her life were her great-grandchildren, Sean, Caitlin, Calli, Cameron, Veronica, Joseph, Benjamin, Bernadette, Riley, Mathias, Casey, Conor, and Bailey. She was a bright, exciting and challenging woman until the very end and she will be missed. A Prayer Service and Rosary will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas NE, on the UNM Campus, Friday, April 7, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. The Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church, 110 North Madison in Enid, Oklahoma, Monday, April 10, 2006 at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, during this Lenten Season, donations in her name can be made to the St. Francis Xavier Church Building Fund or the St Thomas Aquinas Newman Center Building Fund.
