Obituary for LARGENT

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Tuesday April 04, 2006

Steven Largent Born May 18, 1946 in Council Bluffs, IA - Died March 30, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM. Pops passed too quickly after being diagnosed with ALS, and we are deeply grieved. In tribute, we've collected some thoughts to describe our husband, son, father, and friend. As a partner, father, family member, friend, neighbor or acquaintance, Steve was true blue to himself and others without pretense. Steve was a family man and always made his family and friends his priority who all benefited from his love, compassion, and support. He never met a person who wasn't a friend. He never met someone for whom he didn't have a friendly word. Steve was a big hearted mechanic in a family of the mechanically challenged - now we'll all have to learn new skills. He generously gave to and shared with everyone - if someone needed anything, he was there for them. Steve was devoted to his wife, children, friends, work, and hobbies - he always found the time for the many things important in his life. Steve was fluent in love, friendship and four languages, all in search of fellowship. He always went above and beyond in anything that was asked of him. Steve had a laugh and an infectious smile that could brighten any room. . . Pops was a hero; he gave his life totally to the people and causes important to him, and in our book, that makes him a hero.
