Obituary for SARRACINO

Ramon S. Sarracino, 82, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at his home in Socorro, NM surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 30, 1923 in Mogollon, NM to Cooney and Kate (Romero) Sarracino. He taught and then became Principal at the Polvadera schools from 1947 to 1966. He then became Assistant Superintendant in the Public School System where he retired in 1986. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Victor Sarracino; his brother, Cooney Sarracino; and his sister, Della Benavidez. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pilar Lopez Sarracino of their home in Socorro; son, Raymond Sarracino and wife, Allison of Albuquerque, NM; daughters: Kathy Gonzales and husband, Pete of Socorro; Becky Romero and companion, Barbara Zamora of Socorro; and Patricia Vaiza and husband, Andy of Socorro; brother, Michael Sarracino and wife, Gail of Artesia, NM; sister, Rowena Romero and husband, Gene of Socorro; sister-in-law, Lilly Sarracino of Las Cruces, NM; grandchildren: Frank, Pete and Paul Gonzales; Jacqueline and Marquez Sarracino; Cynthia and Jason Romero; and Matthew, Madalyn and Monique Vaiza; great grandchildren: Antonio Gonzales III, Andre Gonzales and Emiliano Romero. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Steadman-Hall Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 31, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at San Miguel with Father John C. Daniel as Celebrant. Burial will be in the San Miguel Cemetery. Pallbearers are Frank Gonzales, Pete Gonzales, Paul Gonzales, Marquez Sarracino, Jason Romero and Matthew Vaiza. Honorary Pallbearers are all of Mr. Sarracino's 7th and 8th students in Polvadera. Arrangements are under the care of Steadman-Hall Funeral Home, 309 Garfield, Socorro, NM.
