GERTRUDE LORCHER. GREAT GREAT GRANDMOTHER Gertrude Lorcher McCafferty, 91, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1980, passed away March 20, 2006. Gertrude was born in Castalia, OH and lived much of her life in the Milan, OH area. She enjoyed knitting, traveling, her family, animals, and music. Gertrude was an active member and held offices in the Ladies Auxiliary, Purple Heart; Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5890 in Rio Rancho, and the Wives of US Submarine Veterans of WWII. She was a charter member of the Milan Mothers Club in Milan, OH. She was a past member and active in the choirs of the Presbyterian Churches in Rio Rancho and Huron, OH. Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, C. Patrick McCafferty, LCDR USN RTD., in June 2000 and her parents, Harold and Lois Mapus. She is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Marianne Lorcher, Rio Rancho; daughter, Jeanine Williams Meyers and husband, Jerry, Florida; sons, Leslie Lorcher, Rio Rancho and Philip Lorcher and wife, Pam, Nevada; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Phyllis George and husband, Trenton, Florida. The family expresses gratitude to the Presbyterian Hospice for their support and help. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Presbyterian Hospice, 81 Constitution Place NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
