Christopher Chavez (Christy) Sr., 45, a resident of Albuquerque born, June 12, 1960 passed away on March 23, 2006 and is now in heaven with our Lord. Chris is survived by his loving children, Christopher Chavez Jr., Rebecca Loya and husband, Andy; three grandchildren, Alena and Andy Loya and one on the way; six brothers, Gabe Chavez and wife, Nellie, Gerald Chavez and wife, Lorrie, Moises Chavez and wife, Susan, David Chavez and wife, Lynn, Pete Chavez Jr., and Robert Chavez; six sisters, Mary Ortega, Lydia Lagunas and husband, Victor, Berna Mora and husband, Lucio, Dolores Torres and husband, Willie, Roberta Placencio and husband, Albert, Laura Barboa and husband, Isidro; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Chris was preceded in death by his wife, Briggett Chavez, October 19, 1986; his parents, Pedro and Cruzita Chavez; two brothers, Billy and Nestor Chavez. Chris was a member of the Catholic Church. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final visitation will be Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. by father Gene Greis. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his six brothers, Gabe, Gerald, Moises, David, Pete, and Robert. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Sandoval, Stanley Lagunas, Matthew, Isaiah, and Elijah Lukesh. We want to thank all our relatives and friends for their love and support, to Father Gene Greis, Holy Rosary Church, presider of the Mass, to Marie for reciting the Rosary and to the pallbearers.
