Joe C. Herrera, life-long resident of Albuquerque, passed away in his sleep Tuesday, March 14, 2006. Born May 2, 1911, in Chilili, NM, Joe was 94. Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife, Irene and grandsons, Robert "Bobby Joe" Herrera and Rudy Otero. Joe is survived by sons, Joseph "Fred" and wife, Olympia; Jose "Dino" and wife, Sadie; Joe "Junior" and wife, Marie; Tom and wife, Josie; Robert "Bobby" and wife, Rose; Richard and wife, Ida; daughters, Irene "Tite" and husband, Roger; Lillian and husband, Henry. Joe leaves 40 grandchildren, 96 great-grandchildren, and 26 great-great-grandchildren. A Mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2006 in Albuquerque, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Road NE. Interment will take place immediately following the Mass at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE. The family will gather after the interment at St. Bernadette Parish Hall.
