Ramona F. Tafoya, age 83, of Mora, NM passed away March 8, 2006. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Gloria S. Martinez. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jose E. Tafoya; and daughter, Ernestine M. Tafoya; son-in-law, Richard L. Martinez; grandchildren, Stephen and Ibeth Martinez, Andres Martinez, Rebecca and Joseph Lopez, Julianna and Randy Chance, Andrea Gomez; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Kimberly Chance, Dante Martinez, and Jonah Lopez; sister, Angelina Gurule-Vergo and husband, Jim; and many other relatives and friends. Ramona was a graduate of Las Vegas High School; she then went on to the College of Santa Fe and studied accounting courses. Ramona worked for the State of New Mexico as a Financial Specialist for 23 years; she retired In December of 1982. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society and American Diabetes Association. Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Martinez, Julianna Chance, Andres Martinez, Andrea Gomez, Rebecca Lopez and Bobby Martinez. Visitation will begin on Sunday, March 12, 2006, 6:00 p.m. where a rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 13, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
