Obituary for MACFARLAND

Jean Frances MacFarland, 91, a resident of the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho area since 1988, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2006. Jean was born June 9, 1914 the daughter of Fred Berry and Inez Genevieve Scott MacFarland in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She achieved her Bachelors and Masters degrees by going to night school at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She was an elementary education teacher before retiring and moving to New Mexico. Jean was talented in crafting; especially in creating stuffed dolls and animals, much of which she donated to the Red Cross. She also made quilts and knitted things. Jean was also an accomplished horticulturist and she loved her flower and vegetable gardens. She is survived by one brother, Daniel W. MacFarland and wife Jean of Tennets Harbor, ME; one sister, Bonnie Stockett and husband Bob of Albuquerque; nieces, Barbara Morris and husband Tom, and Lynda S. Courtright and husband Geoffrey in addition to many other nieces and nephews. The Visitation for Jean will be held today, Sunday, March 12, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the Service at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with Pastor Tom Lambelet officiating. Interment will be Monday, March 13, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. in Vista Verde Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, it has been suggested that memorial contributions be made in Jean's name to the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, Hospice, P.O.
