Obituary for JONES

Robert (Bob) Davis Jones, 78, resident of Albuquerque passed away on February 21, 2006. A Masonic Memorial service will be held Friday, February 24, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at Temple Lodge #6 AF&AM, 3801 Osuna Rd N.E. He was born October 7, 1927 in Anson, Jones County, Texas to Dula & Mose M. Jones. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Then returned to Jones County to farm and ranch with his father. He team roped with his dad at working cowboy rodeos for many years. In 1950, he married Jimmie Lee Rainwater-Russell and worked in the oil fields during the oil boom. He moved to Gallup in 1954 where he was a body man and one of the first fiberglass repairmen west of the Mississippi. He moved his family to Albuquerque in 1963 and worked as a body man at Ed Black Chevrolet for 18 years. At the age of 50, he continued his custom knife making to full time and was a voting member of the International Knifemakers Guild since 1978. He had collectors all over the U.S. and foreign countries. He was Past Master of Hiram Lodge #13 AF&AM and the Scottish Rite, Santa Fe. He is survived by his wife, Jimmie; children, Joel and Jennifer Jones and their three children, Jessica, Bobby, and Brett; Linda and Cleve Pillifant and their two children, Andrew and Melissa; Brenda and Al Buciorelli; his three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Nathan and Lael; and his favorite dog, Miss Pokie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hiram Lodge #13 AF&AM Scholarship Fund P.O.
