Dorothy "Dede" Helmick, 78, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2006. Dorothy is survived by sons, Rick Helmick, and wife, Pati; George Helmick; Rob Helmick, and wife, Teri; Tim Helmick, and wife, Christine; Dwight Helmick, and wife, Brenda; daughter, Diane Sanchez, and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Alex, Ryan, Adam, Chase, Konner, Dakota, Dalton, Dylan, Delaney, Jason, Brett, Christa, and Charla; sisters, Mary Ellen Masters and Patricia Harrison; and brother, Jack Mooney. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Dick Helmick. Dorothy was born in Sacramento, CA. She married Richard H. Helmick, Career Air Force Military Officer, in 1949. Dorothy resided with her husband and children at Air Force Bases in Anchorage, AK, Washington D.C., Sacramento, CA, Montgomery, AL, and Ramstein, Germany. They permanently settled in Albuquerque in 1963. Dorothy devoted her life to the study and practice of naturopathic and holistic medicine. She trained under, and was an associate of Dr. Parcells.
