Margaret Alvarez, 92, died on Sunday, February 12, 2006, in Albuquerque, NM. Margaret is survived by her husband, Benjamin, of the family home with 61 years of marriage; four daughters, Cynthia Gaigl; Sharon Lucero, and husband, Gil of New Mexico; Barb McClellan, and husband, Bart of Cheyenne, WY; Elaine Lewis, and husband, Frank of La Habra, CA; sons, Peter Camacho and wife, Nora of Orlando, FL; and Ben Alvarez, Jr., and wife, Linda of Rocklin, CA. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and 14 siblings. Margaret was born in Kohala, Maui, on Monday, December 4, 1913, to Harry and Julia Gustino Spreen. Margaret loved being around her children, traveling, cooking, crocheting, and entertaining family and friends. She would help strangers in their time of need. Margaret was the glue that kept the family tight and nurtured them throughout the tough times. She was very active in the church and was involved in teaching children on the Sabbath. Margaret loved her animals and playing her sweet Hawaiian music. She was great at dancing the Hula. Funeral Services will be Friday, February 17, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at Heights 7th Day Adventist Church with Pastor Neff officiating. Burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
