Obituary for HOPPER

William (Bill) R. Hopper, 81, passed away February 10, 2006. Born November 2, 1924 in Woodward, OK, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elisabeth; three children, Gonda Dragan of Ft. Collins, CO, Willi Hopper of Red River, NM, and Bob Hopper of Rio Rancho, NM; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many caring relatives and friends. After graduating from High School in 1942, Bill entered the Navy and served overseas for 3 years. After a brief time as a civilian he re-enlisted into the Army where he served for 20 years, retiring in 1967. His career covered both the Korea and Vietnam Wars. He and his wife moved to Albuquerque in 1976 where Bill was employed at Kirtland Air Force Base in the Water Works Dept. He finally fully retired from active work in 1988 and devoted all of his time on his home, wife, and family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Services to be held Wednesday, February 15, 2006, 11 a.m., at French's Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming, Albuquerque; interment to follow at National Military Cemetery in Santa Fe.
