Obituary for CARRILLO

Dan Carrillo passed away on February 6, 2006. Dan was born on November 30, 1930 and was a lifetime resident of Albuquerque. He is preceded in death in by his parents, Amelia and Nestor Carrillo. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lucy; three sons, Danny Ray Carrillo and wife, Linda; Ronnie Carrillo and partner, Russell Toth, and Mark Carrillo; grandchildren, Daniel, Aaron and wife, Melissa, and Amber; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Ray and Isaiah Matthew; a brother, Raymond Carrillo; brother-in-law, Jesse Casaus and wife, Rose; sister-in-law, Dora Lopez; and nieces, Barbara Carson, Veronica, Sandra, and Lisa, JoAnn Enez. Dan and Lucy also sponsored two brothers from Cuba, Carlos and Miguel De Jesus, who now reside in Miami, FL. After returning from military duty, Dan opened his own barber shop on Menaul Blvd. and was known to many because of his honesty, great sense of humor, and a love of life. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the American Legion Post 99. Dan believed in God, family, and service to country, and will be greatly missed. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, February 13, 2006, at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW, at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at 10:30 a.m., also at the church. Inurnment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
