Michael J. Wilkins of Rio Rancho, born September 11, 1960, passed away on January 27, 2006 at the age of 45. He was born and raised in Albuquerque and lived here all his life. His children were the joy of his life and he loved his family and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe, in 1976; his mother, Iva in 2001; his beloved grandmother, Nellie; and his mother-in-law, Janet Anderson. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Diane; and his children, Amanda and Michael. Also surviving are his sisters, Robin Cassell (Frank) and Barbara Hilliard (Lyn); his brothers, Frank Jones (Miki) and Ed Wilkins (Theresa); father-in-law, Richard Anderson; sister-in-law, Debbie Moreno and her children, Monica and Yvonne. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews, and their children. Mike had a love for fishing, cooking, building model rockets, the Green Bay Packers, and auto racing. He attended Highland High School and TVI. He will be missed by many. Special thanks to the Reverend Fergus Smith of Zia Hospice, to the Rio Rancho United Methodist Church and to the Cub Scout Troop Pack 17. Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m., at Rio Rancho United Methodist Church, 1652 Abrazo Road NE, Rio Rancho, NM. Reception immediately following the Service at the church.
