Paz Montoya, age 87, a resident of Scottsdale, AZ and former resident of Las Vegas, NM and also lived in Albuquerque, NM for many years, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2006 at the Scottsdale Health Care in Scottsdale, AZ. She was born in Las Vegas, NM on February 20, 1919 to the late Florencio Armijo and Virginia Valdez. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank "Chicharron" Montoya. She is survived by her sons: Dicky Montoya and wife, Ofelia of Phoenix, AZ; Joseph E. Montoya and wife, Karen of Arlington, VA; Lander Montoya and wife, Cecilia of Las Vegas, NM; grandsons: Robert Vigil and wife, Diane of Las Vegas, NM; Frank Montoya and wife, Michelle, Rick Montoya and Anthony Montoya, all of Phoenix, AZ, and Joseph E. Montoya, Jr. of Arlington, VA, and Phillipe Montoya of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughters: Shally Ray Williams and husband, Joseph of Korea; Sharon Rogers and husband, John of Scottsdale, AZ; great-grandsons: John Rogers Jr., and Anthony Rogers, both of Scottsdale, AZ, and Robert Vigil of Las Vegas, NM; great-granddaughters: Erika Montoya and Alexus Montoya both of Phoenix, AZ; Emma Vigil of Las Vegas, NM, Phoenix and Genesis Montoya, both of Albuquerque, NM. Rosary Devotional Services will be conducted on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Rogers Mortuary Chapel with Lena Villegas reciting the Rosary. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father C. John Brasher as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Masonic Cemetery.
