William "Bill" Harvey Branch, Jr., 89, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006. He was born Sunday, June 30, 1916 to William Harvey Branch and Virginia Allen Duvall Branch. He is survived by his son, William Harvey Branch, III and wife, Jane of Waynesville, NC; grandsons, Douglas William Branch and wife, Laura and Derrick Wallace Branch and wife, Emma, all of Staunton, VA; and special niece, Ruth Ann Blankenship Bennett of Farwell, TX. Mr. Branch had two special friends who looked after his care the last few years. They are Harris Sampson and Max Forrest. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia Dome Branch; and sister, Virginia Branch Blankenship of Lewisburg, WV. Mr. Branch was born and grew up in Louisville, KY where he graduated from Louisville Male High School. He attended the University of Louisville and Florida State University where he earned a B.S. Degree. Mr. Branch retired at the rank of Lt. Colonel from the Air Force in 1962 after serving in WWII and the Korean War as a B-29 Pilot. He moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1963.
