Obituary for BIESTERVELD

John R. Biesterveld, 74, a resident of Albuquerque for 50 years, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Verona Biesterveld; children, Pamela Lyyski and husband, Randy of Lakewood, WA, Paula Schneider and husband, Melvin of Albuquerque, John R. Biesterveld Jr. of Albuquerque, and Bryan Biesterveld and wife, Tanya of Hurst, TX; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. John was born on December 11, 1931 in Eau Claire, WI. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. John later met Verona Leland and married on September 18, 1954, and graduated from MSOE in Milwaukee. After moving to Albuquerque, he worked for Sandia National Labs where he retired after 36 years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Services will be held on Saturday, 9:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
