Obituary for WATTS

Rose Margaret Eppich Watts passed away Saturday, January 14, 2006, in the presence of her loving family. She was born on July 9, 1918, in Mancos, CO. She was the third child of John and Mary Eppich, and attended school in Mancos and Kirtland, NM. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education degree from the University of New Mexico. She taught in Shiprock and Madrid before following her sisters into nursing. Rose was a registered nurse and worked in the hospital for many years after her children reached school age. It was during nurses training in Durango, CO, that she met her beloved husband, Evan, and they shared 40 wonderful years together until Evan's death in 1989. Rose is survived by her three children, Dr. Don and Kathleen Watts of Ogden, UT, Marilyn Watts and Marsha Conant of Fresno, CA, and Carol Watts of Austin, TX. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Alex and Carson Bell, Vanessa and Grant Watts of Ogden, UT, Kaylynn and Sarah Conant of Fresno, CA, and Zoe Watts of Austin, TX; sisters, Ann Duran of Albuquerque, Gertrude Etchart of Farmington, and Jean Raterman of San Antonio; and one brother, John Eppich of Farmington; and many extended relatives and friends. Rose traveled extensively with her family and had hobbies including art, sewing, reading, bridge with her special friends, and hiking. She loved the mountains and the aspen forests. Her main joy in life was visiting her family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed picking apples from her trees with the grandchildren. She was known for her fudge, cookies and apple pies. She was a lifelong member of the Roman Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, January 18, 2006, 5:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 18, 2006, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Lomas at Tennessee, with Father Mike Cimino, Celebrant. Friends may visit Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at French Mortuary from 4:00 p.m. until time of Rosary. Interment will take place on Friday, January 20, 2006, at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Mancos, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, P.O.
