Frances A. Schmitt, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 in Albuquerque with family at her side. Frances is survived by her children, Gayle Morris and husband, Cliff of Sandia Park, NM, Richard T. Schmitt, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Gallup, NM and Rebecca Schmitt-Baca and husband, Steve of Santa Fe, NM. She is also survived by her grandchildren, LeeAnn, Wade, Jeremy, Gina, Nikki, David, Rachael, Zachary, and Emily; seven great-grandchildren. Frannie had a zest for life. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing cards, dancing and cherished her family and friends. Frannie made friends easily and had many. Her dream was to sell the house and travel full time with her husband of 64 years, Richard. Frances was preceded in death by Richard on August 28, 2005 and they are now traveling full-time together. Rosary will be recited Friday, January 6, 2006, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 7, 2006, 10:30 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel with Father Anthony Romero, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday, January 6, 2005 at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until time of Rosary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 9500 Montgomery NE, Suite 209, Albuquerque, NM 87111.
