Obituary for DAVIS

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Wednesday January 04, 2006

Dorothy Shepard Davis passed away peacefully in her sleep on New Year's Eve. She was born on November 1, 1925 in Lawrence, KS of Owen Shepard and Ina Marie Davis. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1948 and accepted a position with the Department of the Army in Yokohama, Japan. There she met and married her husband, Edward, of 55 years. In 1955 she contracted poliomyelitis in Salzburg, Austria and was confined to a wheel chair for the rest of her life. She is survived by her husband, Edward L. Davis of Albuquerque; a sister, Margaret Morris of Denver, CO; and her five children, Ellen Hunt and husband, Jim, Stephen E. Davis and wife, Gloria, Susan D. Weidner and husband, Jim, and Laura Marshall and husband, John, all of Albuquerque, and Janet Davis of Maui, HI; and five grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The Garden Center, 10120 Lomas NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. Services will be held Thursday, January 5, 2006 at 8:30 in the morning at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church, 2621 Vermont NE at Claremont.
