Frances L. Roehl, 90, died Dec. 29, 2005 in Rio Rancho, N.M., where she lived since 1962. She was the first secretary/receptionist for the field office of land sales in the development of the young and growing city of Rio Rancho. She was of a "pioneering" family. Born in Gravette, Ark., she was the daughter of Dellno C. Lundy and Georgia Frances Chrane (Lundy). Frances attended Paradise Hills United Methodist Church and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Turquoise chapter and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elks. She is survived by: her three children, Charles W. Leonard III and his wife Paula, David D. Leonard, all of Rio Rancho; Elizabeth F. Cruze and husband Ralph Thomas of El Paso, Texas; grandchildren, Debby S. Schmidt and husband Bernard of Nashville, Tenn., Charles "Chip" W. Leonard IV and his wife Candy M. of Mesa, Az., Tracy R. Leonard of Albuquerque, Paul M. Leonard and his wife Corley of Logan, N.M., Jason D. Leonard of Rio Rancho, and Richard T. Cruze and wife Jeannie of El Paso, Texas; and cousin P.A. Lundy and wife of Lake Village, Ark. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Vista Verde Mortuary, 4310 Sara Rd. in Rio Rancho. Funeral service will be Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., in Vista Verde Mortuary Chapel, with the Rev. David Snyman of Paradise Hills United Methodist Church officiating. Entombment will follow in the north wing of the Floral Garden Mausoleum at Vista Verde Memorial Park.
