Bettye H. Miles, a resident of Belen, NM for 12 years, died Tuesday, December 20, 2005. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lloyd W. Miles; daughters, Cynthia M. Miles of Belen and Catherine Minette Brooks and husband, Les of Portland, OR; granddaughters, Lisa M. Rowland and husband, Ken of Ft. Worth, TX, Julie M. Huepel and husband, Twain of Portland, OR, and Melissa Ann Brooks of Portland, OR; great-grandchildren, Amber Rowland of Ft. Worth, TX, Jenesis Keane of Portland, OR and Faith M. Huepel of Portland, OR. Mrs. Miles was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Hereford; and brothers, Monty, Dick, and Charles Hereford. She was a member of the E.S.A. Sorority, the DAV Auxiliary, the president of the Antique Club, and of the Baptist Church of Belen. Mrs. Miles was a Virginia Aristocrat, which was exemplified by her home and her flair for fashion and design. A viewing will be held at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel on Monday, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Services will be held on Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jim Henrie, Frank Miles, Les Brooks, Ken Rowland, J.W. Jenkins and Sean Dolan.
