Margaret V. Bower, age 83, of Shenango Presbyterian Senior Care, 238 S. Market St., New Wilmington, PA, where she resided for several months with her husband, died Wednesday morning at the home after a brief illness. They also formerly resided at 1277 George St. Extension, Sharon, PA. She was born June 25, 1922, in Mercer, PA, the daughter of the late Ira and Freda McElheny Pizor. Mrs. Bower was a high school graduate and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Sharon. She was a longtime member of the sanctuary choir and frequently served as a soloist at the church. She was a longtime member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an avid reader and frequently audited classes at Penn State University, Shenango Valley Campus. She is survived by: her husband, Joe C. Bower, whom she married June 11, 1949, and who resides at the Presbyterian Center; two sons, Dr. David Bower, PhD, Athens, Ohio and Dr. Bruce Bower, M.D., and his wife, Dr. Susan Little, M.D., San Diego, CA; four grandchildren, Matthew Bower and wife, Stephanie, Rio Rancho, NM; Aaron Bower and fiancee, Kim Gleason, of Albuquerque, NM; and Kevin and Lauren Bower of San Diego, CA. The family expresses appreciation to Dr. Robert Morgenstern and staff; home caregiver Faith McClimans; the staff at Presbyterian Senior Care; and Joe Brashen, a neighbor. As Mrs. Bower loved books, the family requests memorial contributions be made to a public or school library of the donor's choice. Funeral Service Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Glenn Hink, pastor, officiating. Family will receive friends in funeral home Sunday 2 - 4 p.m. Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park. Arrangements by JOSEPH P.
