Angela Chavez, a resident of Las Cruces, NM and formerly of Albuquerque, was called home to our Lord on November 27, 2005 after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Joseph of Las Cruces; daughters, Jo Anne Chavez of Bosque Farms, Mary Ellen Chaplin, of Boston, MA, and Cathie Chavez-Soliz of Las Cruces; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Theodore Ortega and David Ortega of Albuquerque. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 1, 2005 at Holy Cross Church, 1327 N. Miranda, Las Cruces, NM where she was a parishioner. She has been cremated and the cremains will be interred at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice, 299 E. Montana, Las Cruces, NM 88005.
