Obituary for GABALDON

Philbert Gabaldon, age 58, and Lydia Gabaldon, age "39 again", both residents of Tome, New Mexico, passed away on November 10, 2005. Philbert and Lydia Gabaldon were taken home together doing what they loved most, being free spirits riding along the open roads across New Mexico. Their life was full of activity, blessed with many joyous events, and completed with all the many people that they loved and lives they touched. They are remembered by their generosity of heart, service, compassion, kindness, and most of all - their infectious laughs and smiles. Philbert recently enjoyed a pivotal point in his life having completed 38 years of employment with General Electric. Lydia, a successful business-woman, was self-employed and managed her beauty salon in Valencia County for over 30 years. They were very proud and adoring grandparents and were constantly involved in all their grandchildrens' activities. They are survived by their four children, daughter, Brenda Summers, and her husband, Duane, of Edgewood, NM; son, Brandon Gabaldon, and his wife, Amanda, of Los Lunas; son, Brian Gabaldon, of Los Lunas; and daughter, Breena Alderete, her husband, Edward; and their eight grandchildren, Brandy (15), Raymond (12), Melissa (9) and Santiago (4) of Edgewood, Jarren (7), Jacob (5) and Jonah (2) of Los Lunas, and baby Evan (5 months). Lydia is preceded in death by her grandparents, Horacio and Vicentita Vialpando, and father, Antonio Montoya. Philbert is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Gabaldon; his sister, Rosie Gabaldon, and brothers, Salomon Gabaldon and twin brother, Phillip Gabaldon. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at San Clemente Catholic Church followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Final visitation will be on Thursday, November 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at San Clemente Catholic Church with Mass following at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Cemetery.
