Hazel Marie Burgess, 81, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 27 years, and who came to New Mexico from Colorado, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2005. Hazel was born May 7, 1924 in Mason City, IA, the daughter of Lewis and Katherine Warren Hoffman. Hazel enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid Denver Bronco fan. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Burgess in 2000. She is survived by her two sons, Douglas Diercks and wife, Donna of Colorado, and Norman Miles of Rio Rancho, NM; one sister, Leona Yakel of Minnesota; and she will be greatly missed by her two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
