Obituary for BENTLEY

George Warren Bentley age 76. Warren died in his sleep in the early morning hours of October 30, 2005. He had bravely fought from a long illness to go to be in another world away from the pain and suffering he had endured. Warren is survived by his loving wife Dixie of almost 24 years. He is also survived by his son, Bob Bentley and wife Joyce and their children Bob Jr. and Lucinda Bentley and daughter Lori Bentley all of Las Cruces. His daughter Juanita Rogers, her children Pauline Snyder and husband Mark, Mike and Angela Nasiff, Luke and Elizabeth all from Texas. He also leaves behind three step children, Terri Ashcroft-McDougall and husband Damien of Albuquerque, John Ashcroft and wife Sherrie of Florida, Rex Ashcroft and wife Shar of Utah, and Nicoloe Ashcroft of Kansas City, MO. He is also survived by his mother- in- law Henrietta Mulka of Las Cruces. Other grandchildren include Zachary Stewart, Christopher Rogers and wife Nikki, Daniell, Jennifer, James and Shelby Ashcroft, Christopher and Shannon Ashcroft, Donna and Jake Ashcroft and Michelle Harrison; great grandchildren, Katie and Trenton Bentley, Dustin Snyder, Emerson Ashcroft, Joshua Nasiff, and Brittany and Megan Hadley, and Joell Rogers. He was preceded in death by his first wife DeLores and his mother and father, George and Arleta Bentley as well as his two brothers, Roy and Chuck . He was also preceded in death by Shannon Ashcroft. Warren was born in Bristol, Tennessee on April 8, 1929. He lived in California for many years before moving to Albuquerque, NM in 1959. Warren and Dixie moved to Las Cruces, NM in 2000. Although he loved Las Cruces he missed his many friends from Albuquerque, as well as the many members of the Model T Club. His family and friends meant everything to him. His passion was working on or driving his Model T's. He loved giving and helping others when he could. At the age of 15 he joined the Merchant Marines. He saw the aftermath of Pearl Harbor and the devastation of Japan. These memories stayed with him all his life. He had a successful Auto Repair business in Albuquerque for 20 years. After a brief move to Bristol, Tennessee he returned to work and retire from Rust Tractor in Albuquerque. Memorial Services will be held at Graham's Mortuary Chapel, 555 W. Amador Ave. , Las Cruces, NM on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Don Connell of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will be officiating. Warren's final resting place will be in Colorado City, Colorado.
