Crucita Brito Gurul‚, age 65, beloved and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, died peacefully, Wednesday, October 26, 2005, while surrounded by her loving family, after a long battle with Emphysema. She joins her parents, Vicente and Petrita Brito; and her brother, Francisco Brito. Precious Crucita was born in Santa Fe, NM on May 1, 1940. With her loving husband, Epi Gurul‚ and family, they lived in Socorro and Las Vegas then settled in Albuquerque for over 25 years. In every community Crucita lived, she has left loving friends and family; and will always be remembered for her love and ability to make people laugh in even the most difficult of situations. Crucita leaves behind a legacy of love starting with her husband, Epifanio (Epi) Gurul‚, Jr.; and her daughters, Rita Gurul‚, Stephanie Silver and husband, Richard (Dee), and Carmen Maez and husband, Don; nine grandchildren, Diana Cumley, Jacquelyn Silver, Jeremy Gurul‚, Clinton Silver, Samuel Silver, Devin Maez, Lucas Silver, Rachael Gurul‚, and Sean Maez; and one great-grandson, Degan Moore. Crucita will be greatly missed by her loving family and those whose hearts she touched. A Rosary will be recited for Crucita Sunday, October 30, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 9502 4th Street NW. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Leroy Gurul‚, Jerry Gurul‚, Joe Gurul‚, Alejandro "Alex" Gurul‚, Anthony Garcia, and David Webb.
