Obituary for GARRETT

J.A. Garrett, USN (RET), a resident of Albuquerque since 1972, died Wednesday, October 20, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathryn Garrett; three children, Michele Lopez and husband, Richard of Albuquerque, Susan Garrett of Twentynine Palms, CA, and Michael Garrett and wife, Jennifer of Heath, TX; eight grandchildren, Scott Green, Kathryn Green, Leann Lopez, Jessica Green, Emily Garrett, Eric Lopez, Timothy Garrett, and Charlotte Garrett; brother, Howard Garrett and wife, Pauline of Prairie Grove, AR; sister, Nova Brewer and husband, Bill of Ogden, UT; his favorite dog, Rocky; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Cora Garrett and three brothers and two sisters. J.A. was born in Jasper, AR. He served in the United States Navy until his retirement in 1968. J.A. worked as a manager at Standard Brands Paint Company until his retirement. He loved to garden and enjoyed his grandchildren. J.A. was a loving husband, beloved father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE Tuesday, October 25, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel with Pastor Lemuel Boyles officiating.
