Arnold, 75, Chairman of the Board of DeVore Aviation Corporation of America, died peacefully on October 10, 2005, his family at his side. Born October 27, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY, Arnold received his Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering degree in 1951 from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and his Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering in 1955 from the Drexel Institute of Technology. Prior to joining DeVore Aviation Corp. in 1960 as principal partner, Arnold worked for Republic Aviation (Farmingdale, NY), the United States Navy (Pennsylvania) and Omega Aircraft Corporation (New Bedford, MA). Conducting business throughout the world with Devore, Arnold traveled to Moscow, Japan, Taiwan, Paris, Spain, Portugal and London. In 1980, he moved to Albuquerque with his family, relocating DeVore Aviation's engineering offices and manufacturing facilities from New York and California. Arnold retired as President of DeVore in 2000. Arnold was an Associate Fellow (member since 1949) of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and a Gold Circle Member (since 1958) of The American Helicopter Society (AHS). He was a registered professional engineer in New York, Florida and Pennsylvania. He also served as Treasurer ('89) and President ('91) for the New Mexico Entrepreneurs Association, assisting fellow entrepreneurs and small business owners. "Arnie" and his wife enjoyed traveling at home and abroad. They shared a special love of the Tuscan region in Italy, an area they re-visited many times. San Francisco was one of their favorite cities, where they had an apartment for several years. Arnie had a passion for art, particularly Japanese prints. He enjoyed music, ballet and theater, which paired well with his love of fine food and a good bottle of wine. Arnold is survived by his wife of 51 years, Trudy Leah Robinson; his sons, Barry Robinson (daughter in law, Nancy Ava Miller) of Edgewood, NM. and Sandy Robinson (daughter in law, Antonette TL Robinson) of Portland, OR.; his daughter, Lisa Robinson McConnell (son in law, Thomas E. McConnell) and grandsons, Jacob and Lucas McConnell, also from Portland. We miss you, Arnold. Always respected, so dearly loved, forever remembered.
