Obituary for KING

Mary Elizabeth King was born December 7, 1925 in Pawnee, OK, the daughter of A.D. Shelton and Lavina (Jarrett) Shelton. She attended school at the Indian Camp School in Pawhuska, OK and then on September 13, 1947 she married Sammy G. King. The couple made their first home in Modesto, California and before long moved to Los Alamos, NM where they become life-long residents. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Walter Shelton; two sisters, Lillian Burks and Goldie Steele; and wonderful friend and sister-in-law, Jean King. Her surviving children are Carol Burger and husband, Douglas of Stoughton, MA, Samuel King of Los Alamos, NM; one brother, Andrew Shelton of Enid, OK; and two grandchildren, Amber Burger of Tampa, FL, and Caitlin Burger of Stoughton, MA. She is also survived by a very special sister-in-law, Irene King of Yucaipa, CA; three nephews, Charles King of Rio Rancho, NM, Michael King of Rio Rancho, NM, Rodney King of Redlands, CA; and lifelong friend, Mary Swickard of White Rock, NM. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel.
