Eva Matte Fishburn, 83, of Gallup, NM, died Wednesday, September 28, 2005 in Houston, TX. She was born February 28, 1922 in Gallup, NM. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Eva graduated from Gallup High School in 1940. She worked for Ft. Wingate Ordinance Depot and as a secretary to Superintendent of Public Schools. She retired from BIA. Eva will be deeply missed by all including her "Earls Coffee Gang." Visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 30, 2005, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Rollie Mortuary Palm Chapel. Services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Mass-St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Father Walter Opalewski will be officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery on Saturday, October 1, 2005. A reception will be held at the Elks Lodge, 1201 Susan Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a charity of your choice. She is survived by her son, Dr. Dennis and wife, Suiki Boardman of Bellaire, TX; her brother, Dr. Arthur and wife, Edye Matte of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter, Hayley Boardman and grandson, Toller Boardman, also of Bellaire, TX. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers for the service will be Toller Boardman, Dr. Steve Gibbs, Steve Gurley, Dr. John Matte, Tom Matte, and Jimmy McIntyre.
