Herman Van Steenis, 89, born April 21, 1916, son of John and Kate Van Steenis, passed on to Heaven and his final resting place Thursday, September 22, 2005. He was married to Earlene Ingram Van Steenis, who preceded him in death on January 30, 1997. Loving father to Patricia Mills and husband, Robert; son, William Van Steenis and wife, Barbara; grandfather to four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Van Steenis was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. He owned Van Steenis Automotive in Albuquerque for many years and was a member of Highland Baptist Church since 1951. For the last few years, he has lived in Huntington Beach, CA with his daughter and son-in-law. Mr. Van Steenis was one of the good guys in a white hat and will be welcomed into loving arms by his wife, Earlene and our Savior, Jesus Christ, what a grand reunion. Services will be held Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Highland Baptist Church, 417 Palomas Dr. SE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
