Marjorie Ruth Stuart Dunlap, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, joined her soul mate and husband of 59 years who passed away June 25, 2005, on September 19, 2005. She is survived by her daughter, Carla Dunlap Beitler and husband, Rick; son, Carl Stuart Dunlap and Debbie Reynolds, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Taralyn Beitler Amen and husband, Darrel of Dallas, Becca Beitler and Brad Beitler of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Luke, Lawson, and Lynlee Amen of Dallas, sister, Lizette Hanson of Utah, brothers-in-law, Clyde Dunlap and wife, Doris and Roy Dunlap, Albuquerque. Marjorie was born on January 25, 1924 in Ogden, UT to David C. and Emily Mumford Stuart. She was the youngest of eight children. After WWII, Marjorie met Carl on a blind date. Three months later they were married and she moved to Albuquerque to raise their family. Together, in 1946, Marjorie and Carl established The Man's Hat Shop in downtown Albuquerque where their son Stuart still carrying on the family tradition. Marjorie was a gifted pianist and organist and played for many years at her wards at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Graveside Services will be held Monday September 26, 2005 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marjorie's memory to the American Red Cross, 142 Monroe NE, 87108, for the Katrina Hurricane victims.
