Orlando Garcia Born Septemer 7, 1928 Died September 16, 2005 Orlando Garcia, age 77, passed away in Denver, CO on Friday, September 16, 2005 surrounded by family members, after a short illness. Orlando was born in Velarde, NM on September 7, 1928 to Frank and Anita Garcia. A loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Orlando and his wife of forty-five years, Dolores, rasied their three children in the northern NM village of Tierra Amarilla. Orlando was preceded in death by Dolores and his parents, Frank and Anita. He is survived by his wife of five years, Carmen of Taos, NM; son, Orlando Garcia and wife Lisa; son, Carlos T. Garcia; daughter Maria Elena (Nena) Garcia, all of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter, Mayo Mercedes Garcia of San Diego, CA; granddaughter, Alisha Jordan of Honolulu, HI; grandson, Joe Russom of Flagstaff, AZ; great-grandson, Matthew Thomas Jordan of Honolulu, HI; step-granddaughters, Elena, Anna and Maggie Schnel of Colorado; brothers, Isaac Garcia and wife, Shirley of Estaca, NM, Tito Garcia and wife Angie of Tierra Amarilla, NM; sisters, Grace Valdez of Farmington, NM, Lucy Smith and husband Jerry of Philadelphia, PA; Virginia Hernandez and husband Mario of San Salvador. Orlando is also survived by many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren and cherished friends. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. at DeVargas Funeral Home, Espanola, NM. A second Rosary will be recited on Friday, September 23, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde, NM. Mass of Christian Burial to be recited on Saturday, September 24, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Velarde. Burial to follow at 5:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Arrangements by DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM.
