Obituary for JACOBSON

Emil DeWitt "Jake" Jacobson, age 88 a resident of Albuquerque, NM and formerly of Belen, NM passed away on Friday, September 9, 2005. He was born on September 21, 1916 in Provo, Utah to Emil Jacob and Daisy Irene Trotter Jacobson. Jake graduated from Utah State with a degree in Forestry. He was a naval pilot during WWII and retired from the FAA as the Area manager of the Southwest Region. Jake was a loving father, an excellent golfer, and a kind and gentle spirit. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Holmes; sister, Fawn Wyatt; brothers, Mack and Keith Jacobson; and son-in-law, Paris Murphy. Jake is survived by his daughters, Jan Jacobson of San Francisco, CA, and Jill Murphy of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Deanne Peters and her husband, Jerry of Salt Lake City, Utah; and dear friend, Vernetta J. Brandow of Albuquerque. A special thanks to all those at Haven Care and The Cottages who provided so much love and care during his life. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of New Mexico. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. at Romero Funeral Home Chapel with a Memorial Service following at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Romero Funeral Home 609 N. Main St. Belen, NM.
