Genoveva D. Gurule "Eva", age 89, was born in Alameda, April 3, 1916. A lifelong resident of Alameda, she loved cooking, dancing, being a grandmother, being with her family and just enjoying her life. Eva was a lifetime member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and of the American Legion Post #100. She is survived by her seven children, Nancy Hamby, Gilbert Gurule and wife, Lillian, Bobby Gurule, Lydia Baca and husband, Albert, Charlie Gurule, Kathy Garcia and Ron Contreras, Flossie Gutierrez and husband, Richard; one sister, Lola Sena; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins; other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 4th and Alameda NW., with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2005. A Communion Service will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2005, with burial following at the San Carlos Cemetery on Alameda Blvd. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
