Wayne W. Mardis went home to be with the Lord on August 29, 2005 at the age of 76. He was born on November 14, 1928 in Clovis, NM. Wayne served in the United States Army during the Korean War and retired from the Army Corp of Engineers in 1990. He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Ione Mardis; sisters, Doris Fishback and Betty Davis; brother, Donald and brother-in-law, Gene Burns. Mr. Mardis is survived by his wife of 31 years Corine; daughter, Lorraine C. Serna; Godchild, Donna Marie Archibeque; special niece, Virginia Montoya; sister, Patti Burns of Las Cruces; brother, Jerry Mardis and wife Madalene of Dallas, TX; sister-in-law, Barbara Mardis of Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Don Fishback of Belen and several nieces and nephews. Wayne will be deeply missed by all. Visitations will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Funeral Services will be Thursday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. also in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Burial will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park.
