Obituary for TRUJILLO

SIMPLICIO. Mr. Simplicio (Sam) Trujillo, 85, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque in Old Town, passed away on August 17, 2005 with his loving family by his side. He has gone home to be with the Lord and his beloved wife, Candie (Dulcenia) Trujillo. Mr. Trujillo was born in Sedillo Hill, NM on May 2, 1920. Sam was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his children, Dorothy Martinez and husband, Charlie, Wilma Eylicio and husband, John, Jerry Trujillo and wife, Esther, Leo Trujillo and wife, Lorraine, Mary Abeyta, Andy Trujillo, and Joe Trujillo; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Trujillo was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Candie (Dulcenia) Trujillo; his parents, Placida Baca and step-father, Luis Baca, his father, Leonardo Trujillo; sons, Ruben and Ernie Trujillo; a grandson, Michael Abetya; son in law, Candy Abeyta; two daughters in law, Socorro and Marlene Trujillo; two brothers, Fidencio (Fencho) Baca and Adeleito (Leito) Baca. Mr. Trujillo was a member of the Catholic Church, a member of the D.A.V. and V.F.W. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the United States Army. He received a Purple Heart and two Silver Star Awards for Gallantry in Action in Germany. A Rosary was recited Thursday evening in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel by Jimmy Rael. A final visitation will be Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at San Jose de Los Durans Mission, 2110 Los Luceros Rd. NW by Monsignor Leo Lucero. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. with Military Honors by the United States Army. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Chuck Martinez, Patrick Martinez, Clemente Abeyta, Andrew Abeyta, Leroy Eylicio, Gabriel Eylicio, Diego Trujillo and Samuel Trujillo.
