Joseph J. Mullins, 75, died at his home on the morning of August 18, 2005. Mullins grew up in Clanton, AL, where his father, Joseph Johnson Mullins, Sr., practiced law and later served as a Circuit Judge. From Clanton, Mullins attended Washington & Lee, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Mullins then attended Harvard Law School, from which he graduated in 1955. After law school, Mullins served in the United States Army. In 1959, after practicing law with his father in Clanton for several years, Mr. Mullins moved to Albuquerque and began practicing with Rodey, Dickason, Sloan, Akin & Robb, P.A. For the next forty-six years, Mr. Mullins provided invaluable guidance and aid to countless clients, colleagues, and friends, earned wide renown and respect as an attorney, and became a pillar in the Albuquerque legal community. Mullins married his great love, Lynn Tittmann, in Albuquerque in 1969. Mullins is survived by Lynn; their two children, Cerianne Mullins Braun, of the law firm Peifer, Hanson & Mullins, P.A, and Meg Mullins Wolfley, an author; and by two grandchildren, Evelyn Starr Wolfley and Tipton Mullins Wolfley. Mullins is also survived by a daughter from his first marriage, Melinda Mullins-Bryant; and a stepson, Chris Mullins. Mullins, an accomplished pianist himself, was a music lover and a loyal supporter of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra. Mullins devoted himself to education, pursuing his own intellectual interests and remaining a vibrant alumni of his Alma Mater throughout his life. His greatest treasure was his family for whom he provided innumerable gifts of spirit, laughter, and wisdom. He will be deeply missed. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at eleven o'clock at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper Ave., NE. Private interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park.
