Obituary for MCLAUGHLIN

Elizabeth M. "Betty" McLaughlin, 88, a resident of Belen, NM for 33 years, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2005. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Belen. Betty worked in the bookkeeping department at First National Bank of Belen for 14 years, retiring in 1991. She enjoyed attending services at her church each week and volunteering wherever she was needed. She was a very talented seamstress and created many beautiful pieces of crochet and fine stitchery. Her relatives and many loving friends will miss her dearly. Her laugh, her energy, her cheerful spirit, and loving heart will always be remembered. Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Clarence McLaughlin in 1998. She is survived by her brother, Eugene Hoadley and his wife, Betty of Illinois, and a cousin, Paul McGarrah of Indiana. All Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Belen on Saturday, August 20, 2005 beginning with a viewing at 9:30 a.m., the Funeral Service following at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Bruce Baker officiating. Interment will be at Terrace Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff, Terry, and Jerry Hunter, Buck Battin, Harold Crump, and L.B. Tarry. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen, NM 87002.
