Obituary for VIZCARRA

Carl Vizcarra passed away on August 15, 2005. He was born September 22, 1934 in Peru. He immigrated to the United States in 1956 to attend college. He served his country in the US Army for 20 years, including service in Vietnam. Following his retirement from the service, he was a businessman in El Paso, TX, where he was active in local politics. He retired to Albuquerque in 1993. Carl continued his life long love of learning by studying language at UNM where he earned a master's degree. He enjoyed poetry and published a book of his poems composed in five languages. Carl is survived by his wife of 47 years, Herta and daughter, Susan Vizcarra, both of Sandia Park; son, Mario G. Vizcarra and wife, Peggy Harris and grandsons, Will and Stephen of Fairfax Station, VA. He is also survived by sisters, Wilma Amantea and Carmen Vizcarra of San Francisco; and his nieces, Maria and Gladys; and nephew, Carlos. Visitation will be Thursday, August 18, 2005, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE. Funeral Mass will be held at San Antonito Catholic Church, Friday, August 19, 2005, 10:00 a.m. Interment will be Friday, 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with full military honors.
