Obituary for GUTIERREZ

Emma Gutierrez, 84, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away at home on Tuesday, August 9, 2005. Emma was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and friend. All those that were blessed to know her will miss her incredible wit and love of music, cooking, and dancing. Emma was a member of the Spanish Choir at Queen of Heaven Church for 20 years and enjoyed her time singing at Mass each Sunday. Emma is survived by her husband of 67 years, Johnny; four children, all of Albuquerque, Dr. John Gutierrez and wife, Connie, Rafael Gutierrez and wife, Diana, Dr. Anne Tafoya and husband, Norman, Anthony Gutierrez and wife, Claudia. Very special friends include Dinah Martinez and Karalee Gutierrez. She is also survived by one sister, Carmen Franco and husband, Dr. Paul Franco of Las Cruces; eight grandchildren, Debbie Gutierrez, Chris Gutierrez and wife, Maria, Gina Gutierrez, Damon Gutierrez and wife, Yvette, Maya Fuentes and husband, Martin Sanchez, Nicolas Tafoya, Wesley Curtis, Leah Granados and husband, Ray, and Kristin Gutierrez; five great-grandchildren, Marcus, Jeremy, and Marissa Baca, Ryan Gutierrez, and Emiliano Granados. Pallbearers will be Damon, Debbie, Chris, Kristin Gutierrez, Nicolas Tafoya, Larry Salas, and Martin Sanchez. Rosary will be recited on Friday, August 12, 2005 at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Church following the Rosary. With times to be announced. Interment will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Friday, August 12, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. Special thanks to Ambercare Hospice, David, Margie, Lucy, and Nitza.
