Obituary for TAYLOR

Richard F. Taylor, LTC US Army (Ret), age 75 of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, August 1, 2005. He was born December 15, 1929 in Pittsburg, PA to Gordon and Anna Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary E. Taylor; his daughters Kathy Wolfe (Dan) of Clovis, NM, Lea Anne Shellberg of Loveland, CO, and Sue Rivard (Neil) of Albuquerque; grandchildren Richard, Jennifer and Jason Wolfe, Shauna Ward (Chris), Melissa Atkin (Wade), Elizabeth Shellberg, Andrea Brewer; six great-grandchildren; brother Gordon W. Taylor, Jr. of Pittsburg, PA and sister, Bonnie Lee Taylor of Marshall, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his son, Richard F. Taylor, Jr. and his sister, Virginia Ann Taylor. He served his country at times of war in Korea and Vietnam. He was assigned to Sandia Base as a nuclear weapons instructor, attended numerous language schools, and retired in 1971 while stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base. Dick was a Past Master of Mesa Lodge 68, KKCH Scottish Rite, Past Potentate of Ballut Abyad Shrine of New Mexico and Past Commander of the Shrine Legion of Honor. He was known for his Love of Life and Children. He never met a stranger. Memorial services will be held Monday, August 8, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ballut Abyad Shrine, 6600 Zuni, S.E. Reception will follow. Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe on Tuesday, August 9, 2005, 10:00 a.m. with full military honors. All family and friends who wish to attend the interment are welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Ballut Abyad Shrine Transportation Fund, P. O.
